Elisabetta Canalis (Italian pronunciation: [elizaˈbetta kaˈnaːlis]) (born 12 September 1978) is an Italian actress.

Career
Canalis had minor roles in the films Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo and Virgin Territory.
She was also a velina in the television show Striscia la notizia. In 2007, she hosted the annual music festival, Festivalbar.[citation needed]
In 2009, she co-hosted the Italian version of Total Request Live. In 2010, she played a recurring character in season 3 of the TNT series Leverage.[1]
In February 2011, she co-hosted the televised Italian song contest Sanremo Music Festival with Gianni Morandi and Belen Rodriguez.[2]
Canalis is set to appear on the 13th season of Dancing With The Stars. She is paired with Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Maksim's brother, for his first season as a professional.

Elisabetta's father was a radiologist in Sassari’s University clinic and her mother an Italian literature teacher.[3] She has a brother named Luigi.[4]
She was educated at a "Classical Lyceum" Italian school in Sassari, and then moved to Milan to study foreign languages at “Università Statale”.[5]
From June 2009 until June 2011, she was in a relationship with George Clooney.[6] On June 22, 2011, Clooney and Canalis released a statement to US Weekly saying "We are not together anymore...It's very difficult and very personal and we hope everyone can respect our privacy."[7]
